We have a new and exciting opportunity for a motivated, flexible and experienced individual to join my client's versatile team to work with the Sales, Marketing, Operations and product teams to develop new solutions and commercialize for their target customers, to support growth of the business in new areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Discovers and understands customer needs.
Takes concepts from design to engineering determining appropriate process methods, based on product requirements and recommend materials.
Leads engineering effort on assigned projects including ownership of design, prototyping, testing, CAD, BOM, manufacturing plan and patent landscape.
Researches and analyzes data to determine feasibility of design and validates that it meets design intent as well as performance specifications.
Provides design and product analysis to meet customers specifications, emphasizing design for manufacturability.
Functions as a highly valued team player who works with cross functional teams to specify design parameters and finished product goals.
Prepares 3D models and detailed engineering drawings in Inventor of complicated components and assemblies.
Presents complex conceptual ideas and solutions to internal and external teams.
Establishes performance standards and develops tests to ensure solutions meet functional and design criteria.
Works with internal and external partners to develop prototypes.
Scheduling, delegating, documenting and running team meetings.
Keeps leadership apprised of work and ongoing issues.
Tests prototypes, finalizes designs and documents, identifies and corrects any weaknesses in products.
Designs within context of project and company goals.
Utilizes prototype fabrication and outsource resource management as needed.
Supports engineering effort as needed to meet launch goals.
Maintains expenses within project budgets and costs to meet CM% targets at scale.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design or related fields and 5+ years of design engineering experience or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
High proficiency in Inventor or 3D CAD tools.
Skilled advanced analysis in areas such as: FEA, Cycle Fatigue and Tolerance Analysis etc., and BOM Management tools required.
Experience designing for and working with 3D printers to produce FDM models.
Working knowledge and experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic components, system controls, fabrication and metal forming for manufacturability.
Experience with robotic engineering.

Experience working with and coordinating vendors.
Strong communication skills both oral and written. Communicates with people on all levels in a multitude of organizations.
