Director of Plant Operations
Seeking a World-Class Manufacturing Executive for highly respected manufacturing company based in SE MN. The Director of Operations will lead all plant operations and continuous improvement activities with overall responsibility for production, safety, quality, maintenance, and other production support areas. The Director will be a member of the Executive Team and report directly to the CEO.
Overview of Your Responsibilities
Measure the effectiveness of all processes (budget, operations, P&L, forecasting, etc.)
Determine company's strategic growth as part of the executive team
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and projects
Day-to-day plant operations
"LEAN" Manufacturing concepts - must be proficient with proven background leading teams
Ensuring compliance with established ISO 9001 quality policies and to improve supply chain efficiencies
Develop and execute annual labor and overhead improvement programs to achieve targeted gains.
Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery.
Develop short and long-term strategies to reduce cost and improve supply chain efficiency.
Support NPD efforts by interfacing with engineering ensuring manufacturing feasibility.
Monitor plant utilization, establish forecasts and develop action plans to adjust capacity as necessary to meet demand.
Also monitor the age and condition of process equipment, making recommendations as needed regarding replacement and/or investment in new capital equipment.
Compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies.
The Director of Operations will have direct functional responsibility for Production, Purchasing, Production Planning and Control, Information Technology, Shipping & Receiving, and Maintenance
Qualifications and Key Attributes Needed:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical, related discipline having a minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing management experience in metal fabrication or closely related industry.
Strong commitment to quality, integrity, and completing initiatives on time and within budget.
The ability to drive a culture of accountability for establishing and achieving aggressive performance improvement in terms of quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Demonstrable record of achievement executing lean manufacturing initiatives and driving significant productivity and quality improvement.
Experience in manufacturing environments where quality standards and production processes are managed utilizing state-of-the-art methodologies including ISO 9000 certified quality policies.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct overall production activities to maximize revenues and profits.
Strong people orientation with dedication to the training, motivation, and development of people to help them achieve their maximum potential.
Experience with advanced ERP systems – specific experience with Epicor 10 a plus
