Executive Director - Non-Profit Organization

The Executive Director is responsible for providing highly visible leadership and building a strong reputation for the organization in all issues related to business and community vitality. As Executive Director you will have overall responsibility for operations, administration, financials, events, personnel and facility management.

Essential Functions:

• Represent and advocate for the business community

• Plan, organize and oversee a range of services and events benefitting members

• Lead long-term strategic planning and Board-directed initiatives

• Recruit, develop, and retain membership

• Cooperate with economic development agencies

• Establish rapport with elected officials and government entities

• Track legislation impacting membership

• Maintain the integrity of the brand

• Manage facility operations

• Maintain budgets, financials, payroll and benefits

• Supervise staff

• Manage membership dues and invoicing with assistant

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

• Ability to direct, supervise, and delegate work activity

• Possess a general knowledge of business practices, operations and needs

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Director, staff, committees, members, governmental units, civic groups and the general public

• Ability to review and critically appraise program proposals and other complex issues

• A demonstrated commitment to and vision for the mission of the organization.

Education/Experience Desired:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma, Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related highly desired

  • 5+ years of experience non-profit fundraising, event planning, budgets, website savvy, social media, project management

  • 1+ years of experience management or supervisory of staff

As Executive Director you will provide members resources, services, and information to further their business success; To entice local .and tourist customers into our member businesses; To serve as a voice to city government and establish a meaningful link to higher government; To foster an environment that encourages member involvement.
